Breast Cancer/AIDS Fund Auction

We held a very spontaneous art auction at work last week for the Breast Cancer/AIDS Fund. My piece was entitled "Un-bearable" which I did not geee.... ooh now I get it. The Auction went really well and we were able to raise a lot of money in the very little time we had. Wheew!

Clone Wars: Ryloth Saga

New year folks! It's gonna be another good one. I know it. This is a memory sketch of Henry Sellick (who spoke at ILM about the upcoming Coraline, which looks aaaawwwesooome!). I have terrible memory by the way ("Was he wearing an orange shirt or a green one?")

And BIG congratulations to buddy Kelsey Mann for landing a gig at Pixar. We'll definately miss him, but now he gets to hang out with the likes of Luxo Jr. and Mike Wasowski. MIKE WASOWSKI!!

Goin' A.P.E.!!!

Whew things have been crazy lately. Well A.P.E. (The Alternative Press Expo) is upon us again. And I am sharing a table with my buddy Jackie Huang, who will be selling his neat little Shadow Bugs, and I'll be peddling my sketchbook and new print (posted above there). I've never been to A.P.E. but I hear it's pretty fun and chill. Wish me luck!

Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

I usually don't care for musicals, but I found Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog really entertaining, quirky, funny, and touching. From the creative mind of Joss Whedon the story revolves around an aspiring super villain (Neil Patrick Harris) who is having trouble gaining entrance into an evil organization and attracting the girl of his dreams.

I'm sure most people feel the way I do, always trying to keep up with an ever growing to-do list. Between family, friends, work, freelance, other extracurricular activities, and the rest of my life I'm trying to find the time and focus to accomplish more of what I want. In the meanwhile here are some life drawings I was able to squeeze in recently.

I've been busy doing a lot of things the last few months, including some crew gear for the show (which has been occupying more of my time than I expected). I've designed T-shirts, a water bottle, even Yoga pants. But definitely one of my favorite things I got to design was a lunchbox (with some assistance from buddy BKO).

Star Wars: The Clone Wars Series

The premiere of the show has finally been announced! Promos are out on television and it has been very surreal to see something that you've worked on for so long and kept secret for so long out in the world. Even though I see it all the time, I'm still excited about seeing the show actually on television for the whole world to see it. Here's the link to the promo on Cartoon Network.com.

Comic Con 2008...

... was pretty exhausting. I was wiped out for days. That's all the negativity I'm gonna spew out. It definitely had its highlights though. My favorite moment at Comic Con occurred on Sunday after I had already left San Diego. This story was relayed to me by my buddy BKO:

This cute little Supergirl and her dad strolled by the booth and she was drawn right to the cover of my book:

She asked her father, "What's the little girl doing?"
He replied, "I think she's building a robot."
"What's the story daddy?"
"I don't know."

And so they started flipping through the pages. And with each page the little Supergirl concocted a whole story, advancing the tale with every flip. It must have been more adorable than puppies prancing around in a cotton candy shop, while wearing bow ties... and twirling canes.... made of good thoughts. I wish I would've been there for that. Fortunately, my friends took pictures of her as she perused my book:



So I guess Comic Con wasn't so bad.

My books came in from the printer! I'll be sharing a booth with some extrememly talented artists from the crew here (Bosco Ng, BKO, Jackson Sze, Kinman Chan, Kilian Plunkett, Steward Lee, Thang Le, & Wayne Lo). Our booth is #1329. And other fellow artists from the crew at different tables include Jackie Huang, Kelsey Mann, Russel Chong, and Sergio Paez. Look out Comic Con, here we come!

Back in my day...

Whoa! I found this old sketch for a color script I never actually got around to well... coloring. It's from a group project I worked on during animation school. Working on that project taught me a lot about cooperation, patience, compromise, and teamwork. Oh boy did it.
